You become what you behold. If you spend all week beholding your screen, scrolling the highlights of everyone else’s life, you will be transformed into an anxious, envious person. If you spend all week beholding your moral performance, you will either become an arrogant Pharisee or a hypocrite crushed by shame. Transformation does not happen by looking in the mirror and trying harder. Transformation happens when you drop the veil, look away from yourself, and fix your eyes on Jesus Christ.
