SCF Women
Purpose Statement
SCF Women aims to encourage friendship, discipleship, personal and corporate growth, and the development of hearts that are readily inclined to reach out to our surrounding community.
The SCF Women’s Ministry sponsors a variety of activities and events for the women of our church. A yearly retreat provides an opportunity for more in-depth time together and a deeper look at both the heart of God for each one of us, as well as the part we play in His broader purposes. Women in all stages of life are welcome to participate and new ideas for fellowship, study and outreach are always appreciated. We are creating an environment where every woman is uplifted, honored and valued, as we help one another create a gracious sense of belonging, that stretches beyond our own walls.

Women’s Bible Studies
MONDAYS AT 10:00 AM in The Lodge
Begins December 30: Precept Study – The Purpose of Prayer
As followers of Jesus, we know that prayer is essential to our daily walk with Him. But at times, the practice of prayer can begin to feel stagnant or obligatory—just another thing to check off the list. Jesus invites us to something much deeper—a flourishing prayer life that draws us closer to the heart of God.
Journey through Scripture to discover the true purpose of prayer and its ability to transform our hearts and lives and our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Explore the relationship between Jesus and His Father, as well as the relationship with God into which He invites us. Delve into Scripture, including Jesus’ teaching on prayer in His Sermon on the Mount and the prayers of both Jesus and Daniel during trying times in their lives. Together, we’ll uncover the true purpose of prayer and how it deepens our relationship with God.
Returns February 3: Precept Upon Precept Inductive Studies: Samuel – Precept Workbook
This is a 2 part study of 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel for a total of 16 weeks.
1 Samuel – (8 weeks) Before there were kings in the land of Israel, there were judges assigned and appointed by God – the true King of Israel. In this inductive Bible study on the first book of Samuel, we explore the Israelites transition from judges to kings through the experiences and perspective of the prophet Samuel. Explore the story of Samuel’s birth and the precious way God calls him into ministry. Witness Israel’s request for a King and their rejection of God as King. Dive into the stories of kings Saul and David. Trace the journey of the Ark of the Covenant from capture to restoration. From judges to kings, from the departure of God’s glory to the assurance of His help, from inquiring of the Lord to inquiring of a medium – this book of contrasts sets before us the importance of a life of obedience and how it’s lived out in the midst of interpersonal conflicts.
2 Samuel – (8 weeks) This study includes 2 Kings and 1 Chronicles. Watch a “man after God’s own heart” ascend to the throne, then descend into sin. See how a covenant-keeping God turns a man from the worst sins to a victorious finish.
Cost is $20 for study book. Call Ann Gragert at 503-798-7115 for info and to make sure we have enough materials.
