Loving God . . . Loving People . . . Changing Our World
We believe that three of the most effective ways of accomplishing this through missional efforts is first; by giving of our time, talent, & resources to achieve our “redemptive potential” — a dream of what could be when we allow God to renovate our hearts for His purposes.
Secondly, by reaching those within our church community, within our city, and within the world that are in need of relief, rehabilitation, and development. And thirdly, by walking with those individuals as they take their next steps in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
There is something so amazing that happens when lives collide with the love and restoration that only Christ can bring! God is looking to us, His sons and daughters to continue His great plan here on Earth; not only to reach the hurting, broken, and lonely but to disciple and walk through life with those same individuals.
So that alleviating poverty in our community can become reality.
Have you ever stopped to think about how many people are in need in our community? Mission of Hope is a ministry of Silver Creek Fellowship that started as an outreach to the homeless by serving meals under the Center Street Bridge and has now become a mobile food bank and food pantry serving Silverton and Southeast Salem. Through our partnership with Marion Polk Food Share, we have distributed thousands of pounds of food to those in need.
Philip and Wendy Scott serve full time in Cambodia with Youth With A Mission. The Scott’s also oversee church planting in the northern province of Stung Treng.
Currently Silver Creek Fellowship sends short term teams with teaching skills to Stung Treng with a focus on helping public school students with their English skills and also to help equip local teachers who are serving in the public school.
I am interested in learning more about a mission trip to Cambodia!
