Missions in Stung Treng Province, Cambodia
Philip and Wendy Scott worked with their YWAM friends in 2025 to bring the gospel through many different projects, such as:
- Conducting a week-long English Fair, with 40 students attending. It was a great chance to bring unchurched young people into the church grounds for fun and ministry.
- Holding 2 Discipleship Training Schools, totalling 60 students, as a means to disciple the young people of this province to be servant leaders.
- Running a one-day Bible school every month attended by 50 students from all over the province of Stung Treng
- -Enabling the Kavet believers to learn to write and record worship songs in their own language
- Operating 3 dorms for 40 high school students who live far from their schools
- Holding a youth conference in November, with over 200 participants, mostly from Stung Treng but also from two neighboring provinces. Most of the teaching was done by local Cambodians we have raised up, and it was a very encouraging time for all.
- Running a church-based youth center which taught English, computer, and life skills to hundreds of young people
- Working with the Bible Society to translate the New Testament into the Kavet language, which will be published in 2026.
- Providing ceramic filters and rainwater tanks so that families can have clean water.
- Providing materials so that families can construct their own latrines.
- Distributing food packages to hundreds of families who have been displaced by the war with Thailand
- Providing weekly Bible studies and food supplies to over 1000 prisoners in the local jail
- Assisting over 400 people who are living with HIV/AIDS.
- Training many leaders of new rural church groups.
- Overseeing the establishment and running of 15 Savings Groups which are set up to help villagers avoid the trap of the commercial credit loans.
- Holding five Oral Bible Storying seminars for 200 illiterate villagers to enable them to tell the Bible as a story.
- Building a Waiting Room so that pregnant women can stay at the health center immediately prior to delivery
- Assisting in the pre and post-natal care of hundreds of women who gave birth in the province
