Even while Jesus was only hours from being abandoned, deserted, and denied, He was fixated on the love He had for His own. The answer to self-doubt and contempt we so often feel for ourselves is found in the unshakeable reality of God’s love for you in Christ Jesus. We are “his own” and he will love is all the way to the end, even though we are still in the world and the world is still in us.
